Hi!
Words Away's first salon is on Monday, 19th September and as the date gets closer I'm getting really excited. I've been working on Words Away now since February. When Emma and I started talking about a series of monthly creative writing salons with a focus on the writing process, I knew it was something that I'd want to attend myself. The Salons have been created with the audience as a key part of the evening, to exchange ideas, ask questions and chat. Alongside writer Emma Darwin, I’ll be meeting up with a different guest every month, starting with editor, writer and blogger Andrew Wille. We’ll begin our season with Andrew, looking at Ways to Make Your Novel Shine and exploring how to self-edit your fiction. We lift off on the 19th September, 2016 at the fabulous Tea House Theatre Cafe, 139 Vauxhall Walk, London, SE11, 5HL, at 7.30pm.
For top tips on the writing process I often turn to Emma Darwin. Her popular blog, This Itch of Writing, is my Go-To guide whenever I hit a snag. Emma’s a bit of a writing sage, a natural teacher and bestselling novelist. I’m thrilled she’ll be joining me as Words Away takes flight. Following Andrew Wille, we have some amazing writers lined up this Autumn, including Caroline Green, Essie Fox and Elizabeth Fremantle ready to share thoughts on aspects of writing fiction.
I hope I can lure you out of the writing cave to get together with lovely people including published and aspiring writers. Order yourself a delicious slice of cake and a cuppa or perhaps a glass of wine. It’s only a tenner for two hours of marvellousness including a chance to meet fellow travellers who are as interested in writing as much as you are.
By the way, do you like our Words Away logo? Part London sparrow, part artistic licence, I think our little bird captures the creative spirit and intent of Words Away. So, do come and say hello at one of our Salons. I'm looking forward to meeting you.
