New Salons and Masterclasses: Autumn '18
We have a new lineup of events arranged for the Autumn! As the weather mellows and we head toward the cooler months, join us at the Tea House Theatre Cafe in Vauxhall for one of our monthly writing salons. Emma Darwin and I are looking forward to welcoming you all alongside an array of wonderful guests. On September 24th, we'll be discussing, Being Edited and Being Published: What Every Writer Needs To Know, with the Chair of Virago Press, the legendary editor and publisher, Lennie Goodings. On the 15th October, we'll be talking, All Is Not What It Seems: How Memory and The Past Fuel A Narrative, with the award winning author Claire Fuller. Then on November 12th, when the days will be drawing in, we'll be heading into darker territory with author and creative writing teacher, William Ryan for There Will Be Blood: Writing Violence. We'll be finishing the year with a festive salon on a magical if not enchanting topic with a talented writer - all will be revealed soon, so do save the date, Monday the 3rd December, and keep an eye on the website for more info.
I’m also collaborating once again with writing teacher and experienced editor, Andrew Wille to run some new masterclasses on craft. On Saturday September 29th , we're running The Craft of Plotting: A Masterclass on Plot and Story for Writers. On 24th November, we'll be exploring The Craft of Voice: A Masterclass on Voice and Narrative Style. Both events will feature a Q&A session with an industry professionals as well as chance to network informally and meet other writers. We'll be back at our lovely venue, the London Bridge Hive, a newly renovated space two minutes walk from London Bridge Station, situated between Borough Market and New Bermondsey St. As always there will be oodles of tea, coffee and cake on tap to feed your inner muse!
Meanwhile, enjoy the rest of the summer. Happy reading and writing!
