Sarah Shrubb
I started as an Editorial Assistant at Little, Brown in 1994, working my way up the Editorial ladder, then launched the audiobook list as a new venture in 2003 - the imprint was called Time Warner Audiobooks and we published abridged CDs. Since then the audiobook market has flourished and Hachette Audio (as the list is now called) only publishes unabridged digital downloads and has a back catalogue of over 1800 titles. Digital audio publishing changes year-on-year and the challenges it presents and the huge market growth mean my job is very different from what it was in 2003 – however, as with all publishing, it is always underpinned by great writing and wonderful authors.
